The Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) is proud to commemorate its 65th anniversary, marking six and a half decades of conservation efforts and environmental stewardship in the Niagara Peninsula watershed.

Since its inception in 1959, NPCA has played a vital role in conserving and restoring natural resources, enhancing biodiversity, and promoting sustainable development practices. As it reflects on the last 65 years of conservation work, NPCA is also embracing a new chapter with the relocation of its headquarters to 3350 Merrittville Highway in Thorold.

For several decades, NPCA was headquartered in Welland, serving as the central hub for the delivery of the organization’s programs and services. The relocation to Thorold is a major milestone for the organization, representing the positive momentum in its transformation and the fulfillment of its evolving space requirements to effectively address strategic goals and drive continued progress with renewed vigour.

Together with its staff and Board of Directors, NPCA will celebrate these two significant milestones at the upcoming 65th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 19.

“We are thrilled to celebrate NPCA’s 65th anniversary and embark on this exciting new chapter with the relocation of our headquarters," says Chandra Sharma, NPCA CAO and Secretary-Treasurer.

"As we look back on our accomplishments of the past many years and the significant progress we have made recently, we are grateful for the commitment and dedication of our staff, and unwavering support of our volunteers, partners, and community members who have contributed to our success. With our new administrative space, adequate to the needs of our exceptional team of professionals and providing improved accessibility to our clients and partners, we are poised to continue the next phase of our transformation and renewed focus on our important work."

The April 19 events will be live-streamed and available on NPCA’s YouTube channel.

NPCA’s office is now located at 3350 Merrittville Highway, Unit 9, in Thorold. Office hours remain the same, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
