They’re some of Niagara’s brightest minds and the kind of students who exemplify a commitment to school and community. And on Wednesday night, they’ll be rewarded for their excellence with $2,500 entrance scholarships to Brock University.
 
Brock is continuing with its commitment of opening the doors to post-secondary education for students in the region through its Niagara Principal’s Scholarships. Over the past five years, the University as awarded nearly $750,000 in first-year tuition scholarships to nearly 300 Niagara students. 
 
New for 2019, this year’s 58 Niagara Principal’s Scholarship recipients will be honoured at a celebration taking place Wednesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in Brock’s new Goodman School of Business Atrium. The ceremony for the students, their family members and high school representatives will be hosted by Brock University senior administration, including President Gervan Fearon.
 
The scholarship recipients are selected by principals from each school based on a combination of academic achievements, the students’ involvement in school and the community, as well as financial need.
 
“The whole focus is to demonstrate our investment in Niagara’s future leaders,” said Beth Natale, Director, Recruitment and Retention for Brock University. “We have the opportunity to provide these students with a world-class post-secondary education and we want them to remain in Niagara for that time and for their future.”
