Niagara Board of Trade and Commerce to put on Health and Wellness Expo

NBOTAC is putting on a free Health and Wellness Expo at St. John’s Church in Thorold tomorrow; 'We have a lot of members who are in the health and wellness industry'

The Niagara Board of Trade and Commerce (NBOTAC) is putting on a free Health and Wellness Expo at St. John’s Church in Thorold tomorrow.

“We have a lot of members who are in the health and wellness industry,” the chair of the board Mark Kawabe tells ThoroldToday. “We thought it would be a good way to showcase the many things they could offer to Thorold residents. We have fourteen different vendors there, showcasing everything from senior healthcare to cutting edge hand therapy and health products.”

This is the second year the NBOTAC is putting on the expo.

“We did it last year as well,” says Kawabe. “For the first time doing it, it was a pretty small event. This year we’re giving it another go. We have more vendors and have certainly been doing more publicity for it this time around."

To lure visitors to the free event, there will be door prizes.

“People will just have to show up and check us out,” says Kawabe. “There’s everything from massage certificates to a very interesting Bluetooth water bottle that tracks how much you drink — and everything in between.”

The event figures in the NBOTAC’s goal to promote their members to the community.

“Without health and wellness, what do you got?” asks Kawabe. “You can be as rich as you like but if you’re not healthy, you’re not going to end up enjoying life.”

The Health and Wellness Expo is taking place on Tuesday, April 23, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., at St. John's Church on Carleton St. S. Entry is completely free.
