Thorold Fire professional fire services report they pulled a man from the Welland Canal near Lock 7 in Thorold yesterday.
He was apparently trying to rescue a dog. Firefighters thanked police and EMS for providing medical care on scene and while in transport to the hospital.
At this point there is no update on the condition of the male.
