Rolling Meadows Community is holding its second annual yard sale this Saturday, featuring multiple yard sales throughout the new Thorold South subdivision.

The brainstorm of Rolling Meadows resident Carol Ford, who initiated the event the past two years, the multi-yard sale was created “with the intention to encourage community interaction and relationship,” Ford told Thorold News. “Perhaps next year, we will add other activities to the fun.”

She added that 13 homes participated last year, “and we expect the same or more this year.”

“Being a fairly new community, with a steady flow of new families moving in, this event is a great way to meet neighbours and build relationships, while also finding some treasures,” she stated.

“With the large playground that was installed in fall 2018, this event is also a great activity for families throughout the city to come browse the multiple yard sales, then enjoy some fun family time at the park. Bring a picnic and stay the day.”

Shoppers can begin browsing at 8 a.m. and continue hunting for treasures until 1 p.m.

Rolling Meadows Community is located off Hwy. 58 south in Thorold, northeast of John-Michael’s Banquet Hall.

The weather forecast is favourable for Saturday, but Ford said “Should we get unexpected rain, the event will be postponed to July 27.”
