Live webcam at Lock 7 brings the world to Thorold

Livestream will give potential visitors to Thorold a glimpse of the engineering wonder located in our backyard

Thorold has joined the Earthcam network and a live feed is available here on the ThoroldNews website.

The Welland Canal is a tourist destination for people throughout the world and recently the Thorold Beaverdams Historical Society and Niagara Peninsula Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society teamed up to install a camera at the Lock 7 Viewing Complex and Museum in order to bring Lock 7 to the world. See related article here.

The ThoroldNews has added a webcam page to our menu so readers can access the live feed. Under our "Features" drop-down in menu, choose "Canal Webcam."  Click on the image to access the camera. The page also includes a link to check ship schedule so viewers can access the cameras when a ship is arriving or departing the lock. Click the link and choose Lock 7 from the drop-down menu provided.

The Earthcam network provides live feeds from around the world including resorts, beaches, popular tourist destinations and famous landmarks. It's fitting that Lock 7 is now a part of that system.
