President of the Treasury Board Peter Bethlenfalvy will also take part in this afternoon's announcement

Update:
Jamaal Magloire, Toronto Raptors team ambassador, joined the premier today to encourge the public to download the COVID Alert app.

More than 4.5 million Canadians have downloaded the free app since its launch, Ford said.

Today, Nova Scotia joined Ontario, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan in having the app available for download.

Original information:
Premier Doug Ford is slated to speak to media at 1 p.m. this afternoon.

The announcement comes after Ford said cabinet would meet to consider whether additional regions of the province, such as Halton, York, and Hamilton, should be put into a modified Stage 2 in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Ford will be joined by Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health, and Peter Bethlenfalvy, President of the Treasury Board, to make the announcement.
