Freezing drizzle advisory changed from freezing rain warning for:

   Niagara, Ont.

Current details:

Areas of freezing drizzle are expected or occurring.

Freezing drizzle tonight and Thursday.

Periods of freezing drizzle are expected to affect the region through tonight and into Thursday. A change to rain is forecast Thursday afternoon when temperatures rise above zero.

Challenging winter travelling conditions are expected today through Thursday due to the prolonged period of icing.

In the wake of this weather system, strong westerly winds with gusts in the 70 to 90 km/h range may be possible Thursday night into Friday.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.

Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.
