Four-legged crime fighter retires after almost 10 years in Niagara's police force

Zoey's nose took more than $180,000 in drugs off the streets

A four-legged crime fighter is hanging up the leash after 9.5 years in the Niagara Regional Police.

Police service dog Zoey, a Belgian Malinois, retired in December after a career with the force that resulted in 82 drug searches, 850 calls for service, 73 articles/evidence located, and 157 located individuals.

Late last year, the latest police dog was sworn in the NRPS.
