First responders cruise through Thorold and Niagara

Upwards of 25 law enforcement and emergency services personnel will cycle 500 km across the Golden Horseshoe region over five days while engaging communities en route in raising money

A large entourage of police officers from various cities and first emergency responders gathered at supporting business, Country Corner Market in Welland, Tuesday as a part of its 500-kilometre bike trek. It's titled the Cops for Cancer Tour de Golden Horseshoe to raise money for Childhood Cancer Awareness month and the Canadian Cancer Society.

The cyclists stopped at Front Row Sports and Richmond Street School Tuesday morning.

The participants will cycle for five days, which began yesterday at the Niagara Regional Police headquarters in Niagara Falls, and will end at the Meridian Head Office in St. Catharines on Friday.
