In efforts to communicate more effectively with the public, the city will launch a new website at beginning on Wednesday, March 20.
At that time, visitors to the city's former website, www.thorold.com will be redirected to the new site, at www.thorold.ca
City clerk Donna Delvecchio announced the “soft launch” of the site at council Tuesday evening, adding that the official launch will take place in about a month, enabling staff to correct any issues that occur in the meantime.
Councillor Jim Handley speculated that “maybe we can do water bills” electronically, in the future.
For now, “we can post notices and users will automatically get an email,” said Delvecchio.
Mayor Terry Ugulini encouraged Thoroldites to fill out a survey from the Ontario government. “By the end of the week,” people will be able to click on the link on the city’s website, he noted. “Make sure your thoughts are known.”
