It was a busy weekend at the Scotiabank Convention Centre as local residents, travellers and pop culture fans came far and wide to attend the annual Niagara Falls Comic Con, hoping to catch a glimpse of many famous faces that appear at the conventions.

Con goers and fans alike attended with their friends and family, dressing up for the occasion as their favourite characters; there to experience roughly more than 200,000 square feet of exhibitors, vendors, artists, memorabilia, workshops and video games.

One guest who expressed her enjoyment of participating and meeting the people at the Niagara Falls Comic Con was actress Pom Klementieff, best known for playing the alien Mantis in the Guardians of the Galaxy films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). When asked about her experience here in Niagara Falls, Klementieff replied, “It’s been great! I've been able to meet a lot of people here who enjoy the films and just been having a blast!”

She also commented that she was happy her character, Mantis, was able to appear again within the MCU and not just be stuck in one film. That certainly made fans of her character happy as they lined up to get her autograph and participate in a Q and A.

Other famous faces that appeared at the event included Back to the Future’s Christopher Lloyd, Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell, and comic writer and creator of Marvel’s Thanos, Jim Sterlin.

Crowds grew considerably this year, suggesting good things to come in terms of the growth and popularity of the event in future offerings.
