Charity Car Show cruising into Thorold South Saturday

Thorold Auto Parts founder Lenny Serravalle sustained a fall that left him paraplegic and limited to a wheelchair.

So, in memory of his father, Lenny, who passed away this past January, current TAP owner Frank Serravalle is donating all proceeds from this year’s Charity Car Show to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario.

Two 2019 Ford Mustangs and an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio are among the many classic cars signed up to cruise into the TAP yard at 1108 Beaverdams Road in Thorold this Saturday, July 6. At last year’s event, the spacious lot was filled with a variety of last-minute “surprise” vehicles to thrill car-lovers of all ages.

The charity event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the John Atlee Band will be playing the whole day, said TAP Marketing Coordinator, Emma Cosby-Costiff.

“There is also a full-size bouncy house for the kids. We have a barbecue that will include hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, water, pop and we have Thorold Auto Koozies,” she said, adding, “We also are having a 50/50 and raffling off some prizes.”

Everyone is welcome to have some lunch, stroll the lot and soak in the “fabulous cars, and choose their favourites,” said Cosby-Costiff. Spectators and car entrants are encouraged to participate in the 50/50 draw, and to vote for the People’s Choice of the top three vehicles.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three winners.

“We are also accepting any donations that would like to be made to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, and they will have volunteers at the car show,” she stated.

Under the Serravalle family's leadership, Thorold Auto Parts & Recycling has become world-renowned for its leading-edge environmental equipment and practices, and has hosted open houses for auto recyclers from as far as Australia, and other parts of the world.
