On February 28, 2019 Niagara Regional Council approved a revised fee structure that better reflects the true cost of the Region’s waste management services.
The following changes to the fee rates will take effect April 1, 2019:
Garbage, construction and demolition material
The fee for garbage, construction and demolition materials weighing 61 kg or more will increase to $115 a tonne (from the current $100).
The fee for materials weighing 60 kg of less will remain at the $5 minimum.
Residents are encouraged to separate all recyclable material to reduce waste being landfilled.
