Picket lines could be seen outside a Thorold school for the second time in just a couple of weeks.

On Tuesday it was the catholic teachers of Niagara showing their discontent with the Ontario government amidst the contentious negotiations that has rendered massive protests from both elementary- and high school teachers.

Faculty gathered outside Monsignor Clancy elementary, with teachers from St. Charles and St. Theresa attending.

Members estimated around 60 teachers stood on the picket line.

"The government needs to know these cuts to education are unacceptable", said one of the picketers.

The labour dispute stems from a governmenmt proposal to increase the average size of classes to an average of 25 students, three more than last year.

In addition, the government has proposed two of the classes be so called e-learning.

Additionally, Catholic as well as public teachers are in salary negotiations for salary increases of two percent - but the govenrment will only offer a one percent hike.

Niagara will see elementary schools closed on Thursday as another one-day job action is planned.
