Camp Wetaskiwin in Thorold has lost up to $10,000 worth of equipment for children's scout camps after thieves struck not once – but twice in a week.

Police were called to Scout Camp Road on Monday after the first report of a break and enter, after someone had broken into, and rummaged through multiple buildings, police said.

Tools, equipment, sporting- and camping items used by the kids attending the camp had been taken during the first break-in.

Police suspect the break and enter had taken place between Saturday at 12:00 p.m and Monday at 9:00 a.m.

Officers attended the scene the following day, on Tuesday October 13 after reports of a second break-in.

That time, sporting goods, camping equipment and lawn care tools had been stolen.

That incident was believed to have occurred between 12:00 p.m and 9:00 a.m on Monday.

Police are looking for information about the suspects, currently unknown.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 905-688-4111, extension 9073.
