8:15 p.m. update:
The shelter in place has been lifted.
Members of the public are asked to remain out of the area as fire officials continue toc lean up and conduct their investigation.
7:30 p.m. update:
As of approximately 5:45 p.m., crews on scene were able to gain control of the fire.
Police say there are no injuries, in relation to the fire.
Ministry of the Environment has been advised and are attending the scene.
Residents are still advised to remain inside.
2:40 p.m. original story:
Multiple fire and police crews are on site on Ormond Street north due to an industrial fire that broke out just before 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Front St and Ormond St will both be closed between Towline and St Davids road, Niagara Traffic said on Twitter. Heavy smoke was seen pouring out of an auto shop as fire fighters was working to contain the blaze.
There are no reports of injuries at this time.
Residents within a 1 km radius are asked to stay inside, said a tweet from NRPS spokesperson Stephanie Sabourin.

Close all doors, windows, fireplaces, vents or other openings. Use duct tape, foil or plastic wrap to seal leaks.
