NRPS says an armed man tried to abduct a 16-year-old boy in Lincoln earlier on Tuesday, but failed and fled the scene.

Officers from Grimsby's 8 District found the teenage boy in the area of King Street and Nineteenth in Lincoln at 10:40 a.m on Tuesday, after the suspect had fled from the area on foot.

Police also say they found a stolen vehicle nearby.

Area schools were ordered into 'hold and secure', a safety protocol, while officers continued the investigation.

It was lifted around two hours later.

The suspect has been described as a white male, wearing black clothing, including a black touque, and COVID mask, with thick brown prescription glasses, according to police, who say he was armed but did not specify with what.
