Program: Promoting Outdoor Physical Activity and Social Connection for Health-challenged Older Adults

While many Canadians are living healthier into their later years, there is also an increasing number of older adults living with “frailty” and thus, more complex health challenges. WellSpring, in Alberta, introduces a unique community bike program called the Big Red Ride, which enables frail older adults to get out and be active outdoors. Read more here.

Research: Bike Lanes make Roads Safer for Everyone

Cycling is a great way for consumers to get from place to place and stay active, but the practice can become dangerous when there aren’t designated areas for riders. Now, researchers from the University of Colorado in Denver found that when cities implement cycling lanes, all road users -- pedestrians, drivers, and cyclists -- are safer. Read more here.
