The Thorold Thanksgiving spirit proved itself once more after a Fall Food Drive collected 6,458 pounds of food for the Community Care food bank, as well as monetary donations.

"The response was phenomenal and Community Care was overwhelmed," said organizer James Symons to Thorold News.

He said the generosity went beyond donations as residents, young and old, helped spread the word through flyers, and local businesses provided space for the bins.

"Relentless Fitness got their bin on Monday, and it was full by Wednesday. Donations came in even after the bins had been collected. I am very grateful," Symons said.

Last year, around 4500 pounds of food was collected in the same drive.
