As the Province of Ontario enters into a 28-day stay-at-home order and State of Emergency, the health and wellbeing of our staff and community is top priority. Due to the rapidly evolving situation, we continue to work closely and take advice from Niagara Region Public Health and the Government of Ontario.

City Hall will continue to offer services by appointment only, where remote options are not available. Changes have been made to the following City services:

  • Financial transactions must be done remotely and payments can be made by mail, online banking or via the drop box (no cash) at City Hall located at the front door. Appointments for financial transactions will not be offered at this time.

City staff continue to provide all essential services and are available during regular business hours.

Access to a number of services is available online at www.thorold.ca or by calling Customer Service at 905-227-6613 or by email at [email protected].

By-law enforcement coverage will continue to be provided from Monday thru Saturday. All concerns related to COVID-19 can be relayed to City Hall at 905-227-6613. During evenings, Sunday and statutory holidays, please contact one of the below options:

  • Niagara Regional Police Services, Non-Emergency Line at - 905-684-4111
  • Niagara Region By-law response and assistance - 905-984-3690

Mayor Terry Ugulini would like to iterate that, “As case counts continue to rise during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to follow the Emergency Stay-at-Home Order and Public Health Safety Measures. Yesterday, Niagara Health and Niagara Region Public Health started vaccinating our frontline healthcare workers and long-term care residents, a positive step forward. The next few months will be tough until mass vaccination rollout begins, but there is hope and optimism on the horizon. Please stay focused, on course and continue to support one another, as well as our frontline workers. Together, we will emerge from this pandemic stronger and more resilient!”

On behalf of Mayor, Council and all staff, thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times.
