NRPH reports four cases of COVID-19 in the region on Thursday, following the slightly declining trend in daily cases seen over this week.

There are 40 active cases in the region, of which most are found in Lincoln, followed by St Catharines and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

30 Thorold residents have tested positive for the virus since the region’s first case was discovered on March 13.

Currently, only a single active case is registered with NRPH, according to public health data.

One minor community outbreak is listed as closed, while the two long-term care outbreaks at Garden City Manor in St Catharines, and RH Lawson Eventide Home in Niagara Falls continue.

Provincially, Public Health Ontario reported 78 lab-confirmed new cases of COVID-19 today, but the update indicated today's information was incomplete due to Toronto Public Health's data being unavailable.

Toronto uses its own reporting software, which was unavailable for the provincial update.

There were actually 80 new cases reported by health units in today's provincial summary, but Huron Perth removed two previously-reported cases from the list, bringing the net total to 78 cases.

There have been no deaths reported today, and the province has noted another 99 recoveries of previously-reported coronavirus cases.

Of today's reported new cases, 50 are individuals between the ages of 20 and 59, and none are over the age of 80.
