Colleges and Universities Minister Ross Romano appeared at today's regular COVID-19 press conference by himself today as Premier Doug Ford and two of his cabinet ministers undergo COVID-19 testing.

The tests are taking place after Education Minister Stephen Lecce came into contact with someone who had tested positive, reports The Canadian Press. Ford, Lecce and Heath Minister Christine Elliott appeared together for a press conference on Tuesday and Elliott is also among those being tested.

Romano told reporters this afternoon that Ford is being tested out of "an extreme abundance of caution."

"He wants to ensure that everyone on the premises here at Queen's Park is safe and this is simply a measure being taken out of an abundance of caution given the nature of the cirucmstances we find ourselves in," said Romano.

Romano said he learned about the situation "a matter of minutes" before today's press conference.
