ONTARIO: GPS sends motorist into bush trail

Police are urging motorists to pay attention and use common sense when operating a GPS

Most of us have stories to tell about using a GPS, but this one is a whopper.

North Bay OPP reports that a driver has a hefty towing bill and a tresspassing charge after the GPS led a car 3km down a snowmobile trail in Chisholm Twp overnight Thursday.

Police are urging motorists to pay attention and use common sense when operating a GPS. Trail D102C has since been cleared.

There are numerous instances where people have blindly followed their GPS and been sent into the ocean or down giant staircases,
